Mariama

Mariama came from the same village as Finah, a rural village called Kumala. Her father, a farmer, had died from Ebola. She was quiet and frail. Later, when she was diagnosed with sickle cell anemia, we learned what was causing her distress. Several years later and despite medical intervention, Mariama is still bravely battling the effects of her condition. She struggles academically and socially but is super sweet and never fails to give good hugs. She likes blue, pepper sauce, dogs, Art (especially drawing) and making others laugh. Mariama wants to do something creative when she is older.
