Patty’s father died in a motorbike accident when she was only 3 years old. Her remaining relatives tried their best to care for her but the government requested that she come to Mamaland as she was being left alone for extended periods of time while they worked in the fields. Patty remembers how she used to fetch water and wash the pans alone, sharing that she is so happy to now have her own bed and enjoys singing, laughing and playing with her sisters. Her favorite color is blue, favorite animal is a dog, favorite food is cassava, and her favorite subject is math…adding that she is not a huge fan of social studies. Her favorite Bible story is when Jesus healed the blind man. “I like to laugh, play and have fun with my friends at school and sisters at home.” Patty aspires to be president one day, “because the president talks to any people and helps solve their problems.”
