Kadey joined the family at the request of the government in response to an urgent and dire family situation. Kadey arrived from the small village of Kasentity where her father is an alcoholic and her mother has significant cognitive impairments, leaving her care in jeopardy. She is adjusting well to her new life full of love, food, safety and nurturing with house moms caring for her and fellow sisters to interact with. Kadey likes the color orange, eating chicken, playing with dogs, learning about the Bible. Since she was nearly nonverbal when she arrived, it has been remarkable to see Kadey come out of her shell, find her voice and transform into a very intelligent, motivated, happy little girl.
