Recently, a team was privileged to travel to Sierra Leone to see firsthand the impact of the Mamaland Children's Village and Salone Rising programs. It truly was a personally impactful time in so many ways.
During this trip, our son, Ethan, along with a team of our friends, family and fellow Colorado Christian University students, tutored the daughters of Mamaland during their break from school. It was a blast teaching girls how to play kickball, a classic recess pastime...they absolutely loved it and were really good!
Friendly competition and lots of laughter ensued as the girls participated in the 2nd Annual MamaLand Olympics. (read about our 1st MamaLand Olympics here). Finally, at the conclusion of the trip, several of the visitors commented that they had never seen such happy, academically motivated, affectionate, joy-filled children in their lives. These 20 girls are absolutely thriving and so many of you are playing a special part in that through your generous support!
While photographs are amazing, sometimes there is nothing quite as powerful as a video to ignite the imagination. We were incredibly fortunate to have a very creative photographer and videographer, Autry Jones, join us. In the coming months, we are thrilled to be sharing a couple of his videos and many of the poignant pictures that he took, with all of you.
We continue to be so grateful for the many of you who support this ministry, both through prayers and financially. Please click here to watch this short but heartwarming video!
